Hello,
i have got the new sony bravia TV, i am trying to play .m2ts files on it.
it works well : (i see the picture) when i straight encode any kind of file to M2TS.
BUT the problem is I always have the picture size squeezed. like if it was letterboxed from an already letterbox (2.35:1) format.
there's a movie working well (no picture squeezed), in 1280x544 (2.35:1), muxed into m2ts. but when i use MEDIACODER to recode it, I keep the aspect ratio (1280x544), still muxed into m2ts, the picture is squeezed on my sony tv screen (like if it was a 1280x384 for exemple, i don't know precisely)
if someone has a solution...
by the way, it does the same thing when i encode to divx (.avi file)... then i don't think it is the codec that is the probleme, but mediacoder that add maybe "too much" ratio information (2.35 x 2.35 ??)

rolfcopter, i've found the solution by myself...
First, you have to go to picture and set the aspect ratio to set pixel AR to 0:0 manually.
then, you have to go to "Effects", and check the boxes :
Deblocking "horizontal & vertical"
OR
Deringing
The two are working good. no need to check all the boxes, but either horiz + vertical, OR enabling deringing. it's your choice lol.
(the final filesize of deringing is smaller than the deblocking one)
