no file outputed?

Post by boardersparadise » Sat Mar 13, 2010 2:17 am

I don't understand why MediaCoder would display the error "no file outputed" ? (And what is more, after all 3 passes of a 3-pass encoding have been FINISHED already.)

The only reason I would see is "insufficient diskspace", but the error should be named accordingly. Other than that I wouldn't know...

Shouldn't the user be warned before encoding commences, if the settings are "impossible" ?
And could the error be a bit more descriptive ?

thank you for your reply.

my point is that in all of the cases you mentioned the warning should be issues beforehand and not - let's say - after a 6 hours conversion job (which the user should ideally have tested on a shorter segment, but still!)

Tip: Before encoding/converting an entire file, use the "Time" tab and set up a short test segment....say 30 seconds....and see if it runs.
yes, that's what I tried to say in #3
Edit: If you have a problem with a particular setup, create a new post about what you are doing and include the settings as well as your version number. Always use the search before posting and check for other posts that may have similar problems.
I guess that's the reason why you deleted my posting, right?
