I don't understand why MediaCoder would display the error "no file outputed" ? (And what is more, after all 3 passes of a 3-pass encoding have been FINISHED already.)
The only reason I would see is "insufficient diskspace", but the error should be named accordingly. Other than that I wouldn't know...
Shouldn't the user be warned before encoding commences, if the settings are "impossible" ?
And could the error be a bit more descriptive ?
no file outputed?

Re: no file outputed?
thank you for your reply.
my point is that in all of the cases you mentioned the warning should be issues beforehand and not - let's say - after a 6 hours conversion job (which the user should ideally have tested on a shorter segment, but still!)

Re: no file outputed?
yes, that's what I tried to say in #3Tip: Before encoding/converting an entire file, use the "Time" tab and set up a short test segment....say 30 seconds....and see if it runs.
I guess that's the reason why you deleted my posting, right?Edit: If you have a problem with a particular setup, create a new post about what you are doing and include the settings as well as your version number.
