Mediacoder 7.2.4595 - ISO to MP4 problems

Post by Gurra » Fri Jan 22, 2010 8:43 am

Hi,
Am experiencing the following problem (in Vista) when attempting to transcode a region and macrovision free DVD ISO to MP4:
1. Pressing play button results in the dialog "Error parsing option on the command line: -aspect [OK]"
2. Pressing start transcoding jobs button results in the dialog "Failed to load MEncoder. This is possible that the decoder is absent or it doesn't support the specified file [OK]" followed by "Last Error Code: 013 [OK]".

The DVD iso has no menu but a full valid DVD file system with multiple VOBs.

Have been using MediaCoder for quite a while but have never tried transcoding an iso before.

Are these bugs, user error or configuration error(s)? If user error, what is the correct method to do this conversion?

Hi, welcome to the Forum!
You ask about an ISO. If you mean that, then, I don't know of a way of converting or 'getting inside' the ISO to the IFO or VOB files.
If you meant IFO, then, that's easy.

In any case, the best way of convering a DVD is to select the main IFO file inside the VIDEO_TS folder, either on the unprotected DVD or from the HDD, if the DVD had been ripped. Which IFO and how to access it, etc, is given in viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8082

As for converting ISO to MP4, you can take Handbrake: https://handbrake.fr/
Converting steps: load your ISO file to Handbrake > choose one title> set a destination> select mp4 in the output setting> start encoding.
Also, there's a detailed guide on how to convert ISO to MP4: http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/ti ... o-mp4.html
Hope this can be helpful.
