Bitrate control way off with XviD

Post by Gil » Thu Oct 12, 2006 12:50 am

Ok, I've got a problem with bit rate control - I'm encoding videos to XviD (latest version installed) (2-pass) and setting the target bit rate to 1000 kbit/s - audio being stream copied. The result bit rate varies a lot - sometimes I get even 750 kbit/s video streams! What gives? The only reliable encoding so far has been with VirtualDub - with that I can get rates very close to what I requested - too bad its interface is not as great as Mediacoder's. Any ideas?

Cheers!

Try 1-pass to see if it works.
