Audio restauration

Hello, I've got old audio data (speech) which is strongly distorted. One can understand the speech, but it is very unpleasant to hear. Mainly overdriven volume and hall and dumbness. Is there a good method with MediaCoder or other SW to un-distort it or re-improve the audio quality?
