First time unlucky?

Pentium 3, 1 GHz, 128 MB RAM, Win 98 SE. No version of MediaCoder used earlier. Nothing but Explorer and Systray running when 0.5.1 build 2428 installed. Installation uneventful. Program refuses to run. "Invalid page fault in module MEDIACODER.EXE at 0167:0040d843." Exactly the same on every attempt, exactly the same after system reboot. Nothing found (for this processor, this version of MC) in the forums.

I just fixed some Win98 issue in build 2448 and hope that will fix your problem.

Right, Stanley. I've seen elsewhere that I must completely remove the present version before I install the next. Will do. Thanks.

Got the newer version (2456), Stanley, and it started up without trouble. Tried one conversion as a test, but was given an impossibly long estimate of time needed. Guess I have to see to the settings. Am only now back at my computer after a (human) virus attack. Was told that 2470 is out, so downloaded it.
