Guide for Realmedia

Post by Dark01 » Thu Feb 12, 2009 5:11 am

I checked the Tips and Guide (not so through)

and I hope I'm not posting the wrong station

Is there a guide to how to encode whatever file to RMVB format using mediacoder? I understand the setting on other rmvb converter but not this one

I don't even know what audio is fit rmvb as I don't really see any Real audio around

I guess I will wait for the much newer release to see what I can do

Which was a discussion awhile ago talking about that RMVB is not completely supported. I haven't tried things on these latest versions.

There is no guide. It's pretty much experimenting on your part.

RMVB is variable bitrate Real Media. So, I think you'd set up for Real Media.

Video tab

Container: Real Media
Format: RealVideo
Bitrate would have to be variable, but I'm not sure about how to set that.

Audio Encoder is also a problem according to the other post.

RMVB info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMVB
RealMedia has problems for using in custom players and programs.
It's not recommended to use it if you want to keep your movies accessible.
ffmpeg developers are working on own implementations,
but it's really hard because RealNetworks doesn't want to give any information about the bitstream.
And look at these reviews:

Here is one of them:
