This preset is used to convert just about anything mediacoder can read to a format that appears to be *MOST* compatible with DVD Flick2 (1.3.0.9 v2 build 740) 32-bit. I convert the video to this format and then add the new videos to DVD flick. There's a few settings that need to be changed in DVD flick to work properly, but perhpas I'll write that up in the How To forum later. I'd imagine these videos would also work just fine with other DVD authoring programs as well. DVD flick is fast, but not as fast as mediacoder and I can't adjust the bitrate there and it can't read nearly as many formats as mediacoder and it's not updated nearly as often, etc... I only use stereo sound because the TV I use is and old tube TV and doesn't have surround, so you may want to adjust the audio settings. I use a bitrate calculator program to determine what bitrate to use based on the length of all the video I try to fit onto the DVD. I usually try to target for 4.3GB and then figure the menus and other junk may take the rest of the disc. If the original movie is quiet, bump the audio from a gain of 6db to 8db. Don't use this for "Full-Screen" video, it's just for "Wide-Screen" videos.

Device: To be turned into a DVD by a DVD authoring program.
From: Just about anything mediacoder can read
To: MPEG-2 (AC-3 audio) 23.976fps (NTSC film) 16:9 ratio (ready to be converted into animorphic DVD by a DVD authoring program)
Build: MediaCoder x64 Version 0.8.32 build 5660 (built on Sep 27 2014, 23:17:14)

I've got many preset, I'll post my main two here. They have different purpose and different compression. Some might say I'm overkill, but in my world, quality is important. Thus, these preset have very high quality for a good compression. They are all used to compress a raw blu-ray mkv (made with makemkv) to a x264 high10 mkv. These profile doesn't compress audio.

All using mediacoder version 0.8.32.5680 (worked in previous version).

Source MKV are as follow
Dump from Blu-Ray to MKV using MakeMKV, copying main movie, english+French highest quality (I aim for DTS-HD MA or TrueHD when available) and adding subs + forced subs.

Common settings
Audio: copy
container: MKV
Subtitle: copy
Video Bitrate: 5000kbps (normally end up way higher)
Rate mode: 2-Pass
format: H.264
Encoder: x264
Profile: High 10
Level: 4.1
Preset: Custom
GOP: 25~250
ME: Unever Multi-Hexagon
ME-Range: 32
B-Frames: 10 Optimal
Subpixel ME: 9
Turbo Mode for multi-pass
Eliminate DCT Blocks with small coefficient
Non-deterministic
Enable Deblocking loop filter
Enable Psychovisual optimizations
Use CABAC
Macoblock-tree ratecontrol
Use weighted prediction for B-frames
Use weighted prediction for P-frames - smart analysis
Adaptive spatial transform size
B-frame prediction: strict
P frame quantitizer: 26
Maximum interval: 250
Minimum interval: 25
extra I-frames agressivity: 49
Maximum P-Frames between I and P: 10
Frames used as predictors in B and P frames
Minimum quantizer: 10
Maximum quantizer: 51
Quantizer step: 4
# frames for frametype lookahead: 50
Quantizer compression: 60
Direct Macroblocks prediction: auto
supel refinement quality: 9
Mixed reference frame
trellis: Enabled only for the final encode
Variance AQ
Intra luma quant: 11
Inter luma quant: 31
Performs early skip detection in P-frames
Eliminate DCt blocks with small coefficient
Noise reduction: 0

Profile 1: Animation
Tune: Animation
Psychovisual optimization for RDO: 0.400000
Ref. Frames: 10 (this will trigger warning since level 4.1 support is 4, thus not universally compatible)
