Program Crashes

Post by Stickem » Sun Aug 20, 2006 6:16 am

Thank you for taking the time to create this program.

I used it successfully once, and then made the mistake of upgrading today,
and now it crashes quite consistantly anytime during the conversion "settings" phase.

After reading these forums I have tried the following:
- uninstall and reinstall
- uninstall, delete everything possible, and reinstall without update
- same as above with update

When it crashes it creates the "Windoze needs to close" crap, and as usual
the XP error message is incomprehensible to mortals.

I am running a Dual core Opteron, Asus A8N-SLI board and 2 g/b of RAM.

Does anyone have clever suggestions?

What do you actually mean by during the conversion "settings" phase? It crashes when converting or you are making settings?
When things work together, things work.

Thank you for answering.

It crashes consistently during the "Video" and "Picture" settings selection phase. It doesn't seem to be related to my selections, as some times it crashes before I even do more than select the tab.

It will generally (but not always) allow me to Add File, select the output folder, and change the bitrate from the default, but frequently just clicking
on the "Picture" tab will cause it to crash. (as it just did again now)

The crash is always accompanied by the Windows message "MediaCoder has been forced to close" etc. stuff.
