Converting DVD to MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format

I appreciate anyone who writes back , but please understand Im still having trouble figuring out how to make an mp3. Im working on it.

So any help please make detailed and simplke as possible for me. I would really appreciate that.

So Basically, Im a musician and I have my new video,

When I hit the ADD FILE button, I open up the DVD from the D drive and it opens in AUdio and Video files, I cant split them up.

And When I add them all to the page and try to play them, it doesnt play or do anything.

How do I convert the DVD video to a file I can add to Utube.com and Myspace.com??

and after its converted how and where should I save it to be able to add it to these sites.
