transcoding VOB to MPG4

Post by film3 » Sat Aug 05, 2006 12:34 am

I have Videora iPod converter, after I transcoded a movie it I watched it and I saw that the video and audio wasn't in synch. I found this transcoder software and I think it's GREAT, but I have no clue how to start transcoding.

PLEASE HELP!
Thanks :D ,
RST

Very quick instructions, do something like this:

1. press "add file" button (on top left) and open file you want to transcode
2. set "output folder" (on top right) to where you want encoded file to be saved

3. click "audio" tab (on bottom left) and set "encoder" "to stream copy" if you don't want to transcode audio, otherwise select what you want (default = lame mp3)
4. click "video tab" and set "format" to MPEG-4. select 2-pass.

5. click "start" button

tip: If you mess with settings, select "file" and "revert settings", all settings go back to default.

hope this was helpful

After it was finished transcoding it said that the transcode was unseccessful because the settings were wrong or something about the input couldn't be found and some other reasons. Do you think I did something wrong? Because I set everything at what you said to set it at. In the statistics menu at the side said it had skipped 2 files. Is there anything else I need to do?

I put the source at MPlayer, the Encoder at LAME MP3.

I wish I could help, I tried to do conversion with same settings with no problems.

If you try to preview the file you are trying to transcode, does it play?

I tried transcoding the movie and after it was finished an error box came up saying the transcoding was unsuccessful for the following reasons:

incorrect settings
target file can't be created
unsupported input format
unsupported combinations of audio/video/container
you chose to skip all existing files

I could view it in the iPod plug-in with no problems.

is there anything else I can do?
Thanks,
