Bitrate Control Options?

Post by koolcracker » Thu Aug 03, 2006 12:17 am

Alright, I want to know what exactly is the difference between "disabled" and "adjusted by video motion". Xvid 2 pass encoding already sort of adjusts the bitrate, doesn't it? So my question is really, what is the difference, and what will provide me with better quality, what would you recomend me using for an Xvid movie?

Yes, I found thread where Stanley explains this

"This function is actually used by myself. When doing first pass, a default bitrate can be calculated. I use this calculated bitrate as a factor to modify the user specified bitrate and calculate a bitrate for the 2nd pass of encoding. There is not any scientific proof for doing so. I just do this to my experience. The result I see is, when compressing video with higher motion, the result bitrate will be higher than user's specified one. Just use it for fun."

I have to admit that I still didn't fully understand.
