Slowing down the picture

Hi!:)
I've just discovered this great software and it will take me some time to figure it out. But, right now, I have this problem that I have to solve as quick as possible:(...
So, here's the question: If the sound is ok, but the picture itself runs faster..how can I slow it down, so it fits the sound?

Thanx for your time...I hope I'll get some hint:)

It seems many users are reporting audio video sync issue. Please try reverting to MEncoder 1.0pre8 to see if it solves the issue. If not, there may be other cause which I will need to find out.

Still nothing:(....

The problem happened when I downloaded some youtube videos, in .flv format, and converted them to .avi. And now, both versions have the same audio video sync issue
