Not Showing Progress?

Whenever I encode videos, the progress always shows at 0.0% until the movie is done. It also won't predict the reamin time. Is this an issue with the type of input file, or si there a setting or something?

When the length of the source file cannot be determined, the progress will not be shown.

What about when you specify an ending time. Shouldnt that qualify as a determined time? I still get a 0>0% reading.
