Playback not smooth after converting from MKV
Heya all,
I am using the latest Media Coder release and I am converting a lot of HD-Videos (720p and 1080i/p) from .mkv with the following settings:
Modus: Two Pass
Format: H.264
Container: Default
Now I notice that all the converted videos do not have a smooth playback. It seems like it stopps or skips one frame every 2-3 seconds. Especially when the whole picture is moving this effect is very annoying.
I tried multiple different video players already.
Does anybody have an idea if there is a setting to eliminate it?
I would be greatful for any help!
Thanks!
Mick

I spend some time converting the first 5 minutes of a video with different settings to see if it has an influence on the result.
I changed the video mode and tried all of them (Bitrate-based, Quality-based, Two-pass and Three-pass). No difference concerning the playback problem.
I changed the Format from H.264 to MPEG 4 and Xvid. No difference concerning the playback problem.
Under PICTURE I changed the frame rate. The original video is 25 FPS and I set it to 24 FPS, just to see what happens. It turned out that the problem with the converted file is even worth, which leads to the assumtion that it has something to do with the frame rate.
I tried to force Media Coder to use 25 FPS (by setting the "Force setting frame rate" in the advanced configuration to true), but that did not help.
Does this information help? Any other ideas what I can try?
