hi guys i have been converting hdv to h.264 mkv successfully but i wonder if i am doing an over kill with bitrates, settings ect.. if someone has a workflow or settings on how to convert HDV MPEG 2 (.M2T) --> H.264 (*.MKV) please post here. my settings are as follows :
H.264 in an MKV container
Mode : bitrate based @ 16MB ( does doing a 2 or 3 pass make 'that' much difference ??
Profile : High
level: 4.0
Motion mode: exhaustive
Muxer : auto
Picture :
resize : 1920 x 1080
crop : disabled
aspect ratio : 19x9
Audio FFMPG - mp3 @ 128 Kbps
the resulting file is pretty good, but if anyone has a 'better' profile or can sujest some changes ( to make sure i have done everything right please post )
- regards MArty.
Edit: the reson the h.264 profile is 'high' and only on '4.0' is becuase i play these files on my mdeia player and the max support for h.264 is profile 4.0 on high level.
