Converting a WVX stream from HTTPS....

Post by Al » Wed Apr 16, 2008 6:51 am

The software is choking. I'm using 0.6.1.4077. It looks like error 13.

Any ideas?

Okay, good question. I really just need to "see" the video from my hard drive vs streaming. I guess I'd like a format that is generally readable in something like Windows Media Player. The original file is on Microsoft's site. (Only a few members of my team have access to the partner area and I'd like all of them to see this video - so I thought I'd download it and convert it.) Does this help?

WVX extension is just a redirector or pointer. If you want the link to the actual video, open wvx file under notepad and copy link. Then paste link in MediaCoder.

Yes, i did figure that out. When I paste that link in, I get an error "Failed to load MEncoder". It's error 13.

Really, the file is a WMV and just downloading it is probably good enough, but when I paste the link in a browser, it just fires up Windows Media player and the controls to "Save as..." are disabled"

if i can't convert it, then just a download is fine. Any ideas? Thanks!

I can't d/l it. The URL looks like this:
MMS://xxxxxxx.com/yyyyyyyyyy/zz.wmv and it will only fire up Windows Media Player. I need a way to just suck the stream and then save it.

Use Orbit Downloader to capture the MMS stream.
