AVI with h.264 + AC3

I remember seeing your comment in an earlier post that h.264 + AC3 is not a valid combination but I just converted a .mov file with mono audio to AVI using H.264 + AC3. Only problem audio is a bit out of sync with the picture. Fixed bitrate produces a large offset while both 2 pass and 3 pass pruduce the same amount of delayed audio. Less delayed than that of Fixed bitrate.

change the container to mkv...avi has difficulty supporting h264 avc video streams
