Set Output Filesize?

Post by djp2k7 » Tue Jan 29, 2008 3:48 pm

I was wondering is it possible to set the output filesize that I want withing the gui or is it a hidden feature? I had a quick look, but I can't seem to see anything. :?

That setting exist.
Go to "File" menu -> "Settings (Ctrl+S)" -> [+] "Overal" -> [+] "Video Options" -> In "Target File Size (KB)" write a value (use [Value in MB]x1024 KB (1 MB) to do conversion) -> Click "Apply".

Restart MediaCoder and you get what you want, this option override the bitrate settings btw.

Thanks, for your help :). I wonder why it's not in the main gui though, would make it a bit easier. Just good that it is there :D

It may help you to know that within th GUI, if you change the audio or video bitrate, then switch to the summary tab, the file size will change each time. In other words, you can achieve an estimated file size by tweaking your bitrate settings.
