Creating MPEG-2 output files

Post by scuppers_oh » Fri May 19, 2006 6:30 am

MediaCoder seems to have great potential... just wish I could figure out how to get it to work.

It was great to see that templates are offered for presets for things like NTSC video for a DVD, but I can't seem to get it to work the way I expected.

More specifically, I'd like to convert xVID videos to DVD compatible MPEG-2...

Loading the template for MPEG does not seem to do the trick; the output video wants to stay in xVID. Am I missing something really simple?

I am interested in helping put together a tutorial if there's interest...

hi scuppers_oh,

I've got the same problem.... Loading the presets and nothing happened.

I figured this prob out by downloading an older version of media coder (0.3.7 build 1681). In the VS 0.3.7 I could load these templates.

As the XML path of settings has changed somehow, presets files need to be re-created and I didn't do so...

Hi from itspete (Charles).
Most Presets do load but you have to click on all TABS to get them there.
The ones that don't will be updated, I am sure. You'll have to enter them
again.

Start/End and Audio Duration need a tweek to work properly.
In MediaCoder goto Settings/Overall/Decoding Options/Duration
and set duration above 0.
Now when entering Start/End and Audio Delay (entering double digits),
they will operate correctly.
The problem will be looked into and fixed.

Update 27th May.

Have a look in 'Tips And Guides'. May be of some use.

If you have any settings for other formats, please post them to us in
'Questions And Answers' and not here. Thank you.

We all would like to see them.

All the best
Charles
