MediaCoder crashes when trying to convert video

Post by JanxAngel » Sun Jan 06, 2008 12:57 pm

I ripped a DVD to my HD, and now it's in .vob, .ifo, and .bup formats. I wanted to convert these files to a single MPEG-2 file so I can import it to my video editor.

Everytime I try to run MediaCoder with both Format & Container set to MPEG-2 in Join mode, I get a Windows error saying that the program has stopped working. This happens moments after I tell it to start transcoding.

It will code in default mode.

I've converted several audio files in Default mode with no trouble.

I am running Windows Vista w/ 3.2 GHz processor, GeForce 8200, and 3 GB RAM. I have over 100GB free on the working HD.

open the dvd as a track
click on add, add track, browse to video_ts folder
you can then convert in default mode
see the tips and tricks sticky posts for more info on converting a dvd
tell us if mediacoder still crashes with that
