mixer when you say do it manually do you mean converting to dvd specification video and then creating vob files from the converted video files?
thanks

I read both articles mixer
I would like to make a standard dvd which will play on all dvd players including strict ones.
Also i would like to use open source software and not commercial software for most things.

Did you edit that since you posted it first?
It looks different but i dont think it says anywhere whether posts have been edited or not.

ill mess around with media coder and try to get it into a format dvd styler can work with.

can i just confirm that mediacoder cant output vob and ifo files?

sorry about taking so long to reply

Mediacoder cannot output vob, bup, and ifo files.

I think PAL standard (for Ireland) is 720x576 Mpeg2 files with 48khz ac3 or mp2 audio that can be authored to create vob files.
