task modes

Post by kingcobra » Sat Dec 29, 2007 2:07 am

hello
I read the index wrong first. I thought new users werent supposed to post here. anyway

As far as i can see default task mode transcodes each file in the list to a separate new file in the new format specified.
Is this true?

Also does the join mode do the same thing except have only 1 output file?

If so is there a way to just join files of the exact media ie. same format, codecs, frame rate, aspect ratio etc without actually reencoding, basically copying multiple files into 1 valid and working file?

thanks very much
brendan

mixer wrote: Since MPlayer/MEncoder are open source projects with MediaCoder providing a package for the interface then you can do a search on the net for "split or join task" and mplayer. That gets a fair amount of information. For example here's one I'm reading right now:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Mplayer#Jo ... ple_videos
Sorry, only Available This output formats:
avi - Microsoft Audio/Video Interleaved
mpeg - MPEG-1/2 system stream format
lavf - FFmpeg libavformat muxers
rawvideo - (video only, one stream only) raw stream, no muxing
rawaudio - (audio only, one stream only) raw stream, no muxing

and i want to join two mp4 files
