Selecting audio track

Post by guest » Sat Aug 11, 2007 12:07 am

I'm trying to back up a copy of a dvd. It all rips fine, quality is great, but its ripping the commentary audio track. I've looked to no avail of a way to change it. Using VLC i found that the commentary track is Audio 1 [End] and The non-commentary version is Audio 2 [Eng], which I assume means the commentary is the default which is why its being ripped.

Is there anyway to change it? I tried searching and it didn't come up with anything.

Under Audio Tab, you'll see Audio ID. By default is should be 128 for VOB files. If 128 is shown and still encoding the commentary, change the audio id to another number that is listed in the drop down box.

No matter which one I choose, it still seems to use the commentary :(

Anything else I can change?

Its show 128 and 129 btw.

Did you rip the VOBs to the hard drive using a ripper or are you reading the DVD directly through MediaCoder?

I'll check this to see if it is broken. You can also try setting an audio language on audio tab.

I'm not using the vob files.
I'm using the track selector (to select chapters).
I attempted to rip the VOB but 1, it doesn't allow me to split it up into the episodes I need, and 2 the picture was highly distorted and unviewable.

But, I did manage to discover that changing the audio ID on the VOB file result in a non-commentary version (could just about hear enough), but that doesn't help me too much.
