SSE optimizations in MENCODER

Post by flaxfrogfriend » Tue Jun 20, 2006 10:43 am

My SEMPRON 2.2 is SSE optimized (and MMX, 3DNOW...) for sure.
But the Mencoder.exe say MMX=1, 3DNOW=1 SSE=0 :(
What we need to do to activate SSE instructions in MENCODER?
It is important because I use de Mediacoder for transcoding video to H264 (slow hahaha) or Xvid and any optimization is welcome.

I use Mediacoder 0.39 Jun-2006 and this version is SSE by default right?

Thanks Mediacoders

from MEncoder manual:

On Windows, the runtime CPU detection disables SSE support because of recurring and hard-to-trace SSE-related crashes. If you wish to have SSE support under Windows, you will have to compile without runtime CPU-detection.

I've applied the SSE patch (and some other patch) and re-compiled MEncoder. You can get it here
