Single job only

Hello there ... just wondering if i'm getting old and unable to search properly , but i have this issue where mediacoder is deconding only one file at a time ( mp3 to opus )
Got all core ticked @ allocation
also went to prefferences - taks - -and set the Maximum Parallel tasks manually to 4 ( i think it was 1 previously )
Got 8 core Ryzen 2nd Gen Series .. and i was hoping to get the advantage of the 8c/16t design
( i had core 2 duo previously and i believe it worked multiple threads fine )
Also running Win10/64bit Version of Coder ( just tried the 8.60 build too and no success )
