I have a series of FLAC files that I need to convert to aac/m4a, but when I set a target bitrate, the actual bitrate turns out to be much higher (and thus the file larger than I want it to be). So, e.g., if I choose a target bit rate of 150Kbps or so, the converted files are over 400Kbp. I've tried it with Nero Encoder to m4a as well as LAME mp3, but it's the same issue. This has only been happening in the past couple of months. Prior to this, when I chose a target bit rate the converted file was approximately what I set as the target.
What settings should I use to reach a target of, say, 192?
