Hi,
I used to use MediaCoder to compress my videos and preserve quality.
I had these settings on an older version where I would convert a 3gb video mp4 (1.5 hours long approx) to around 1.4gb and the video quality would be as per my estimation 99% exactly the same.
I'm not able to configure the current version of MediaCoder to do this. I've tried many presets and nothing works.
These were my previous settings and now most of these options aren't there in the newer version:
Could anyone please tell me how to configure the new one or tell me which version that one is in the picture?
Best compression settings for this new version?

At the top of the program. go to "Òptions" > "User Interface Mode" > select Normal or Expert Mode instead of Simple.

Re: Best compression settings for this new version?
Hi,
Thanks, but that doesn't give me those same options. It's got tons of other things to tick or select and a few of the ones in that picture earlier just aren't there.
I'm using 0.8.12 build 5242. Is there any way to configure this? Or I'd be really grateful if anybody could tell me the version that other one was.

0.8.12 build 5242 ????
the latest version is 0.8.34.5716
the version you are using 0.8.12 build 5242 was released May 9, 2012
maybe that's your problem?
for video i would set it to h264 - variable bit rate - with a CRF in the low twenties. the lower the better the video but the larger the files size. no point going lower than say 18. i wouldn't go higher than 25. i find 21-23 fine for most things.
the attached picture is pretty normal. with aac audio in an mp4 container.
