Output file only 400 bytes

Post by hptschupp » Sat Apr 18, 2015 3:02 am

I tried to convert a short test.mp4 clip into WEBM. I used the wizard to set all the parameters. The original mp4 file is 22 MB. The output file (WEBM) only 414 bites with a compression level of about 50.000.

In the summary section it says estimated size of the transcoded file should be 20 MB. The transcoding process seems to be as it should be with the original movie running in the left pane and the blue progress bars moving to the right.Needs about 1 minute to encode.

Only the output file is useless test.webm only 414 bites.

Can somebody help?

What's the other encoding settings you're using? WebM only supports VP8/VP9 (video) and Vorbis/Opus (audio) so make sure you're using those. I'm not sure about bitrates and such for this format though as I've never used it.
If you're unsure about any of this, make a preset then post it here and I'll see if I can replicate it on my end.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.
