I am trying to convert between the above and one of the older formats such as mp4, or avi. As the x265 won't play on my media player. I get either a 13 or 9 type error, sound is no problem as I am keeping it at mp3.
I am accepting mediacoder's defaults, and only selecting the container etc.
Any suggestions welcome.

Description: Incorrect video format settings
Possible causes:Solutions:
- You may have chosen an video format that is not supported by the selected or active encoder backend or multiplexer.
- Switch to another video format
- Switch to another container format
The defaults might be screwing it up. Try setting the basic ones manually.013
Description: A video source error is encountered
Possible causes:Solutions:
- The active video source cannot decode the input file or device
- Try other video sources
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

Re: x265 Hevc
Go to the "Video" tab and change the "Source" to FFmpeg instead of the default MEncoder (uncheck "Auto" and select FFmpeg). This has solved the issue for me (don't ask...the answer is a ridiculous amount of trial and error...). If this works please let me know as it may warrant a bug report to the author.
