Build 5570 has been tested - still fails basic tests

Post by meRobs » Wed Nov 13, 2013 10:16 pm

Even though I had previously stated that I would not do any more (basic) testing of new builds, until there is some suggestion that the basic failings and bugs have been addressed, I decided to test the x64 version of build 5570 -- just in case.
Unfortunately, it still had these issues.
Hence, I didn't update the Test Report (viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12306).
This build performed better than the last build I had tested (build 5540) and performed as well as build 5522.
Neither did as well in these basic functions as does build 5392.

Morover, there still remain four bugs, present since ~5399 (viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12693)
(1) the blue time-zone bar on the Clipping & Effects window fails on a second use (viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12890)
(2) the "Duration"given for chapters or full Tracks in the source queue are incorrect (viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12892) on using Add Track
(3) chapters from a DVD chosen via Add Track had misssing frames (viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12893)
(4) would not Copy video for the conversion VOB to MPEG2 (viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12891)

I require a converter able to do basic functions well and, to this end, build 5392 remains the best of the most recent builds.
However, since this build is no longer available in Premium form (code had been cracked), I have reverted to the non-premium version of 5392 for my needs.

Of course, the newer builds offer new and improved features, etc, but I personally don't need them.

Thanks for the comment.
At least someone reads my comments and bothers to add theirs

We always read your comments; they are usually clear enough that no request for clarification is needed :D

Thanks!

I read every single one of these test results. It gives most of us an idea of whether to update or not.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

Since Stanley, the developer, seems too busy following up on his new ideas to consider the bugs I have reported I am losing interest in watching over the Forum as its Moderator. In any case, possibly because of the Tips & Guides section, there are now fewer enquiries these days!

However, it is about time someone else took over as a Moderator -- the Foum needs new blood.
There is no need to be expert in most aspects of encoding. I'm not.
For more info, see: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12914
So, if anyone is interested please contact Stanley.
