very old home divx player

Post by zigg » Tue Jul 31, 2012 5:22 am

Hello

mediacoder 0.8.13.5262

Is it possible to have the Checkbox for "writing DivX 5 user data to the bitstream" independently of profiles like the xvid for windows 132 * please ?
it write today in user data "DivX503b1393" like the profil : dxn [...] home theater profile
we can make our own parameters (like bvop 1 or matrix mpeg etc ) with a true compatibility divx : the stand alone player with an old divx componant need it to read xvid (without fourcc dx50 or divx).

thks

* we can find it in xvid configuration > other options... > encoders
faq xvid : http://jawormat.republika.pl/compfaq.html / http://codecpack.co/download/Jawor_Xvid_Binaries.html

I am not sure what you mean.
But, build 5262 fails to write XVID as the Codec ID in the file header when using Xvidcore.
However, build 5266 does!
Check the Test Report listed under Tips & Guides (link below or at viewtopic.php?f=17&t=10383) and look in Section 2 on Xvid.
Have you checked out the Tips & Guides for MediaCoder? Try: http://forum.mediacoderhq.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8061
Also, get older builds at: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MediaCoder/old-versions#download

divx userdata string: s/DivX999b000/DivX503b1393
this has been suggested by dxn for improved hardware compatibility
added XVID_GLOBAL_DIVX5_USERDATA global flag for improved hardware compatibility.

"dxn home theater profile" by dxn
http://list.xvid.org/pipermail/xvid-dev ... 04866.html

but this profile in mediacoder don't use bvop.
always write divx5 user data string into the bitstream\n* force
packed bitstream"

So I want use bvop without packed bitstream and with userdata. It is not the profile. the result (adsl@l5 bvop1 packed bitstream 0 and divx5 user data with fourcc xvid )works on the old divx players in my family. And i do xvid for me.

I searched the checkbox "writing DivX 5 user data to the bitstream" like the xvid for windows. If you don't know, perhaps is it a demand for improved ? So i don't post in right place on the forum ! :-p

Use MPEG4 as video format, set container to AVI and audio to MP3 and THIS should work for your divx player.
When things work together, things work.
