Hi everyone,
I am just wondering what is the correct settings for outputing a VCD compatible file form a video of another format
I keep on getting error messages (using the config wizard also)
form the wiki of VCD I know that
Container = MPEG-1
Video
Codec: MPEG-1
Resolution:
NTSC: 352x240 or PAL 352x288
Framerate:
NTSC: 29.97 or 23.976 frames per second
PAL/SECAM: 25 frames per second
Bitrate: 1,150 kilobits per second
Rate Control: constant bitrate
Audio
Codec: MPEG-1 Audio Layer II
Frequency: 44,100 hertz (44.1 kHz)
Output: Dual channel or stereo
Bitrate: 224 kilobits per second
Rate Control: Constant bitrate
To my very best, I am able to set Mediacoder to transcode the video to this scheme, except for:
Video bitrate 1150 kbps is not an option in the list (only 1Mbps available)
I failed to trancode the video because of this disagreement?
I am hoping a correct config for outputing a VCD compatible file which I then could burn using a disc burner.
Thanks. Any help would be appreciated
William

Re: How to convert a video to VCD format?
It should transcode at any bitrate.
In any case, to get 1150 kbps, simply select any value from the menu and write in 1150!
Suggest, you set up MediaCoder with the settings given for MPEG1 in the Encoding Guide, under Tips & Guides (link below).
These settings are used to test the various builds of MediaCoder and their success is given in the Test Report, also under this link.
