I have never used a dvd ripper, and all I am trying to do is rip a dvd to my hard drive. I am completely lost, however sad you might find this, and need help. Could you walk me through the process

Hi.
First I have to remind you that exracting/ripping commercial and
copyrighted material is illegal. You may only use your own files and those
known to give permission to copy, save and generally mess-about with
the product/files.

That said,
It would be best if you use DVD Shrink. It's easy to use and will help you
understand the basic principle of ripping.
a) It will either rip an entire dvd.
b) Just the film
c) Allow you to 'Author' the dvd disk the way you want.
It allows you to a save to a directory or pass it to Nero to write to a disk.

DVD Shrink is not being updated any more due to legal requirements in
the U.S.A. It is fully functioning and works very well indeed.
