I have just added two more tests for the Test Report (see Tips & Guides below).
As a result, build 5130 has the least number of failures of the 14 functions tested.

Yes, let's hope. They both should be easy to fix! The Trim used to work for builds 4399 and 4630 to 4700.
Also, as reported elsewhere (viewtopic.php?f=28&t=10284&p=31381&hilit=Effects#p31381), there only needs a simple Cmd change to get the Effects working.
The older builds are reported here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=9611
According to that, build 4797 has the least faults. It also has an improved GUI over4640.
However, whenever I have problems I hop back to 4640 from pure habit.
I have both 4640 and 4797 on board at the moment with the latest (5130).

Re: Build 5130 is best so far
I have noticed that audio gain and subtitle rendering did not work for me in build 5130. I have been using the Copy Video function since the original video was H264 and I wanted to keep that format. I accidently discovered that when I re-encoded the video as H264 then, and only then, audio gain and subtitle rendering actually started working. This surprised me since I cannot see why Copy Video should disable these two functions. I do not like re-encoding the video to the same format as the original since this adds considerable time to the transcoding process. I wonder what other functions may work or not work because another function, a seemingly unrelated function, has been chosen to be used. I have found that this Copy Video disabling situation also exists build 4740 so it has been a problem for some time.

A comment on the failure of the Trim/clip function in the Clipping & Effects window.
Since I noted that the player SMplayer, a GUI for MPlayer behaves in a similar fashion. An attempt to drag its slider when paused begins play.
Hence I thought maybe this was a bug in MPlayer, so, I copied over the version from 4640 (Trim works) into the Codecs folder for 5130.
But this made no difference.
Hence, most likely a bug in MediaCoder's GUI.
