Make a MOV file smaller

Post by zori » Sat Apr 02, 2011 10:15 pm

Hi guys :) I need your help. I have just downloaded MediaCoder and I don't know how to work with it.
I have made some clips with my digital camera (Panasonic Lumix) and I wish to upload them, but they are too big. One is about 300-400 mb :X. The biggest size I can upload is 100 mb. The clips are MOV files.
I just want to make them smaller. Can you tell me what I should do with the settings?

Hi welcome aboard.

First you need to find out what format (video, audio and container) the upload site requires.
Then, read the Encoding Guide at: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=9643.
Choose one of the suggestions in this guide then vary the settings where necessarry, one at a time, trying a test conversion each time, until you get what you want.
Finally, save the settings as a Preset (see its guide).

There are other guides that may prove useful -- see the Tips & Guides link below.
