mkv to avi (audio out of sync)

hi all,

how come when i convert a tv episode dvd rip from mkv to avi with mediacoder the video and audio are completely out of sync. video is extremely fast and the audio is way behind.

The out of sync may be due to a similar problem to that in normal DVDs (see: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8082&start=0).
Normally, the video is in VOB files, whose Audio Delay values are read by the IFO when the DVD is played, or converted using the Add Track feature.
Direct conversion of VOBs will have out of sync issues.

It probably is not multiplexed correctly. Try AVIMux_Gui

Also if you are just copying the aac audio, which may be 6 channel, try converting to mp3 or doing the audio separately and then muxing.

I have a similar problem when converting "web dl" .mkv videos to Xvid .avi. The way I fix this is by changing the frame rate from the original 23.976fps to 29.97 fps.
