Transcoded mp4 seek issues

Post by loongyh » Fri Apr 22, 2011 3:21 pm

Hi,

I'm using MediaCoder x64 iPod/iPhone/iPad Edition 0.8.1 build 5100 to transcode a couple of mkv h.264 videos to iPhone 4 (Full Res) profile.

The transcoded mp4 could be played, however when I attempt to drag the slider bar to seek/fast forward, it just snapped back to 0:00, restarting the whole video.

Pressing and holding the fast forward button worked, however the video wasn't updated when fast forwarding, and after letting go at the desired timeframe, the video ceased to play. The audio continued to play nonetheless.

When using VLC to playback the transcoded mp4, seeking didn't work too. Instead of snapping back to 0:00, it just freezes at the target timeframe. I suspect it could be due to a missing or corrupted seek index, i.e. each timeframe wasn't indexed to their respective byte(s) on the file.

Please advise on any settings that I can tweak to rectify this, or any patches that'll fix this issue.

Thanks,
loongyh

You mean that in later version the bug has been fixed?
