How to split audio tracks

Post by bertram » Sun Apr 13, 2008 5:05 pm

When ripping a concert DVD: how can I set MediaCoder Audio Edition to split the mp3 files according to the tracks on the DVD?

Thanks!

Hi Betram! If you wish to split a music file while encoding with media coder (Audio Edition) from a DVD, all you have to do is DEMUX the audio & video first. Now select the "time" tab, in the bottom left section of your computer screen, and enter the start position, and the end position, of the audio file or files that you wish to split at.

Example: If your video/song is 5 minutes long and you wish to split it in half, you would enter a start time of 0:00:00:000 and an end time of 0:02:30:000. Then convert to get the first half. Now for the second half you would start at 0:02:30:000 and end at 0:05:00:000 since your song is 5 minutes long and you want the second half of it. The time settings are H:MM:SS:MSC.

There is a little math involved in this I know, but this is how I have done it so far. If someone knows a better method please share with us all!
