hi
i tried 720 x 480 filled tv vertically but not quite horizontally (tv model is 32lg7000 if it makes a diff !!)
i have pixel aspect ratio vga 1:1
display aspect ratio mode default
width of display aspect ratio 4
height of display aspect ratio 3
is this correct ?
720 x 320 isnt an option as far as i can see on program - how do i choose it ? do i have global ticked and do i leave aspect ratio unticked and blank ?
ive just tried manually changing and it appeared to take it - ran an encode for about 5% - burn to rw - popped in player - wont play - checked in gspot and it says i have a corrupt avi header ??
ran ecuador avi calc and for 16.9 it comes up with 720 x 400 ?
sorry but im a bit confused with these aspect ratios and frame sizes etc 16.9, 2.35 !! im just trying to utilize the full screen
thanks for your help so far im learning as we go

I just calculated from the dimensions of the original, where W/H is 2.42, I think.
2.35 is a common AR, but there is a free setting in the Ecuador Calculator to enter X:1.
If you want to do a test you have to limit the time to 10 minutes. The header is written at the end of encoding. So you have to set it to only encode 10 minutes of the file.
You can enter any WxH in the resize box. Checking the Aspect Ratio box only works if your player reads the header. Most players don't.
If the video was 4:3, would you still want it to fill up the whole screen, even if the people all look short and wide?
