It is known that when transcoding from flash video, there is audio video sync issue.
Workaround1:
1. update (actually go back) to MEncoder 1.0pre8 (get it here)
2. Settings->Video->Do not skip any frames = Yes
3. when transcoding flash video, specify a frame rate (better lower than the frame rate of the flash video).
Workaround2: (doesn't work for AVI)
1. Settings->Task->Always transcode audio seperately = Yes
2. Settings->Video->Do not skip any frames = Yes
3. Set audio delay (I use -1 and it looks fine)
4. Set container format, cannot be Default or AVI

Stanley,
Sorry, but I do not see any difference between the MEncoder you are referencing in this workaround and the one which come with MediaCoder, they are both release 1.0pre8-3.4.5
I am looking for the earlier MEncoder you are talking about in that post http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/forum ... rame+scale
Can you help
Ricou

The latest MediaCoder works (came out today, i was the 1st downloader, wh00t!) for some FLV->X.
I completely uninstalled, then installed 0.5.1-pre6 (build 2502), installed the codecs-20060721, installed 0.5.1-pre6 again.
What i have working right now is FLV->
Audio
Source: Waveform
Encoder: Lame
Resample: 44100
Video
Backend: FFMPEG
Codec: XviD
Format: Auto
Picture (without any of these it seemed to work too
Resize: 720x480
Framerate: 29.970 (dropframe)
All other settings are default, with the exception of "Auto" gain for the audio, and turned up video bitrate. Someone else post if they find other methods, especially getting FLV->MPEG2/AC3 working. thanks, hope this helps
[edit] lol, now the main reason i'm using MediaCoder vs another software, the audio AGC (auto gain) doesn't seem to be working at all now. heh. can't have everything i guess. [/edit]
[edit2] this also works for FLV->MPEG2 video, with Lame audio. havn't got MPEG2/AC3 working yet, but still gotta try the latest version again. [/edit2]
