How to encode a 1.4 gb Movie to 700 mb??

Post by pitpit » Tue Apr 22, 2008 8:38 am

Hi everyone!

I just want to compress my big sized movies to a one-disc movie.
I don't want to lose much quality.I'm making MP4s but I want to convert these movies in avi format.

The question is simple :) How can I encode 1.4gb to 700 mb?? :)

Could anyone help? If someone knows how to encode like this pls help.

Thanks already..

No mate, you misunderstood him.

He wants to type in "700mb" in the encoder, sit back and let it do the work.

The simple answer to his "simple" question is...

Use AutoGK.

Unfortunately, Mediacoder doesn't let you encode to specific sizes.

Edit:
Just been pointed out to me by Ladycoder that MediaCoder does have that option. File -> Settings -> Overall -> Video Options -> Target File Size

Careful though, cos it's in kb not mb. (700mb = 716800KB)

Other applications with this feature consider THAT size to be video only. If you plan to have sound you'll have to set the value to lower than the desired target

I don't want to lose much quality.
then leave them as is and use a splitting utility and use two discs
... to be continued
