Re: [Update] Lame MP3
since the mp3 support is knackered it doesn't seem that there would be a massive advantage to updating lame.

Re: wrong bit rate and sampling for mp3 x64
can i just ask a question about the bug reporting and fixing procedure here.
is it possible for me to know if this is sort of logged as a bug with a view to fixing it? is that how it works here? or is it sort of whatever they want to fix?
just that for me this bug is HUGE.

Re: Security bug in MediaCoder Audio Edition 0.7.3 build 4610
as jong says this is a text book bug and should be fixed. realistically it's not something you are likely so see in the wild, aside from the highly targeted attcks that are in the news at the moment. if i wanted to exploit this a scenario would be something like: I would write a tutorial for convert...

Re: Automatically decide bitrate based on final file size
target size would be nice, but it would require a rethinking of the interface.
to get it accurate you would probably need to trans the audio first too because most vbr audio codecs are pretty unpredictable.

Re: Drag & Drop on the main UI
i reported this as a bug.
when they updated the UI to fix the arefacts bug fresh installations lost drag and drop.
however i found if you open a file from the file menu i found this then re-enabled the feature.

Re: Security bug in MediaCoder Audio Edition 0.7.3 build 4610
it allows a maliciously constructed file loaded into mediacoder to execute arbitrary code one the host computer. and as such would be regarded as a significant security issue. all that having been said UAC will prevent this arbitrary code from receiving an elevation token. personally my current favo...

Re: Security bug in MediaCoder Audio Edition 0.7.3 build 4610
an interesting bug.
i mean in the wild it would could only be used in the form of a very targeted attack indeed. but .....
it would be trivial to fix. so get to it i say.

Re: wpredp=2 (x264 encoding) Problems with Standalone Players
i support this.
i have an old version of media coder before this was co-opted into x264.
because i have a 64bit OS i'm easily able to run two version together, ie the latest 64bit version, and an old 32bit version.

Re: Wrong Audio duration (flac file to a mp3 file)
you could even just use lame.exe, it's located in mediacoder's codecs folder. it's a dos app, but most audio coders are essentially a front end for it.
