Re: Huffyuv to suit Premiere
Thanks Mixer, it looks like I don't need it. Premiere accepts the huffyuv AVI, but shows a render bar (needs on the fly rendering to play). It also has an 8-pixel wide strip of faulty pixels along the R edge, which I overcome by setting the frame 4 pixels wider (724, likely reason for the render bar...

Re: Huffyuv to suit Premiere
Thanks Mixer.
One last question: would Adobe Premiere require the DLL to play (view) an AVI in Huffyuv from MC or improve its play?
(I realise Premiere probably needs the DLL to export its Timeline to Huffyuv, which I don't do!)
Thanks again

Re: FFmpeg no longer bundled in MediaCoder distribution
Stanley : you suggested above that the 'ffmpeg.exe' file could be added to MC's Codec folder. I apologise in advance for being off the topic, but, .... Since this folder also has DLLs for other Codecs, could I add the DLL for the Panasonic DV Codec to this folder? If so, would MC make use of it? Th...

Re: Huffyuv to suit Premiere
Question to Stanley: does MediaCoder see or use the "Huffyuv.dll" if it is installed??
I ask because MediaCoder is 'self contained'.
Thanks

Re: Huffyuv to suit Premiere
Thanks Mixer , but I was aware of the Huffyuv link. I had also read of people having trouble with removing this DLL etc and it possibly causing some Apps to crash. Moreover, this DLL seems to be used when creating an AVI, not in encoding the AVI to M2V/PCM via Premiere ?? Are you saying that you use...

Huffyuv to suit Premiere
I convert VOB files in NTSC to AVI for editing in Adobe Premiere. The only Codecs in MediaCoder that seem to work are MPEG4 and Huffyuv. Both come into Premiere quickly and have render bars (need on the fly rendering to play or scrub). Huffyuv behaves better. However, there are problems. The frames ...

Re: Set Output folder = original
Whoops! I got that wrong!
On closing settings, etc, and restoring MC and re-opening Settings, I noted that the Output folder was then blank and on returning to the MC window 'Original folder' was shown!!??
Thanks

Re: Set Output folder = original
Thanks, I tried that, but, hitting Revert did not change the entry from the Desktop! On the other hand, the older version 4399, in a standalone folder, still gives 'Original folder'. The latest version 4490 began with this folder but after a few conversion tests, it switched to the Desktop! It seems...

Re: NTSC encoding Truncates at 30,000 frames!
I since discovered the latest version, 4490, and applied it to 2 VOBs, one of 50,000 frames and one of 59,000.
It did not truncate, so all is well, again!
Thanks Stanley.

Set Output folder = original
Initially, MediaCoder had the output folder as 'Original Folder', by default. I must have tried another destination folder, for some reason or other, because it seems to have changed and (1) I cannot find a way of resetting it to the Original, ie, the source folder (2) the destination folder doesn't...
