Re: MediaCoder "a trimmed down version" comment

I had tried Handbrake for a week or two but found in far less satisfying than MediaCoder. And frustrating! Handbrake was time consuming when working on a batch, each source file had to be loaded and “Add to Queue” clicked and, even then it often failed to convert all in the queue. It's settings were...

MediaCoder will not force you to update if you follow the simple instruction in: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8068.
This Guide is one of many that are listed under Tips & Guides (link below).
Other Guides may be helpful to you as well.

Re: BASIC MEDIACODER TIPS and GUIDES

Some of the above Guides have images that are stored at ImageStack (marked with an *).
If they are viewed too infrequently, they may be lost.
If so, please PM me and I shall try and reinstate them.
Thanks

Re: how to pass-through videos?

Error 6 relates to not having access to your source file (see: http://blog.mediacoderhq.com/docs/error-codes/).

As for Copy Video, this feature has been failing lately.
It is tested as part of the Test Report, listed under Tips & Guides (see: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8061)

MediaCoder: a Trimmed-down Version

20 Mar 2014 [Updated 28 Apr 2014] The Full Edition of MediaCoder is probably the most powerful video/audio converter in existence. When it began some years ago, it could convert to and from many formats and, since then, numerous features and functions have been added, the most recent being Segmental...

Re: Why some AVI to MP4 converts produce shaky results?

I suggest you try the settings given for MP4 in the Encoding Guide, listed under Tips & Guides.
Even if these settings are not exactly what you would like, they will at least serve as a starting point.

There is, of course, a general comment on Presets in new builds, at: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8521&start=0.
It is listed under Tips & Guides.

Re: macroblocking issues with h.264 encoding

I have not seen this problem before at such a high bitrate, especially with H.264 (x264). However, there are a number of Guides that may help. They are listed under Tips & Guides (link below). For example, there is one on 'Encoding to H.264' (in MP4) and one on 'MediaCoder for YouTube' (format suits...

Re: Settings to transcode to x264 Lossless video?

I am not sure what some of your statements mean. For example, lossless means no compression and x264 video can easily be placed in MP4, not just MKV. Some of the Guides listed under Tips & Guides (below) discuss x264 and MP4, etc. Also, if you keep the same resolution ("Resize"), such as 720x576, th...
