Re: H.264, OpenCL & 2 pass

Why is it not possible to use multi-pass crf in Mediacoder ? I mean I want to use the first pass to determine the bitrate which will be automatically used as the bitrate for 2nd encode. When I tick multipass crf option in the 2 pass rate mode, the process seems to be doing fine but the bitrate used...

Re: H.264, OpenCL & 2 pass

x64 Version 0.8.34 build 5716 The second pass fails to utilize the GPU. I saw the GPU being utilized in the first pass but it was just cpu power in 2nd pass. I had slow preset and ticked use opencl if available. The rest was default AFAIK. Am I using poor encoding choices or something? I was just a...

Re: Laptop sleeping during final stage of transcoding

You can set MC to keep the host awake? how do you do this?

With regard to the above... If sleep has been suspended by an app and then becomes unsuspended, doesn't it immediately go to sleep if there has been no activity for the appropriate period? i know my downloadmanager works like that.

Re: Prevent Shut Down or Stand By whilst encoding

What is slightly surprising to me is that sometimes after you power up again it just continues as if nothing went wrong, and sometimes it completely borks it.

Re: AVI file, XVID problem on video

OK. that code the one that now reads FMP4 and You want to read XviD is called the fourcc code. You can manually change it on the files you have already encoded. if you google FourCC changer or something like that. But it couldn't be there in the first place. Despite being in the video stream it is p...

Re: Adding srt *** subs during encoding

I think there has always been a problem with this.

your best bet is to use the mkv tools (specifically mkvmergeGUI) to insert the srt directly. you can even chuck in both video files and just select the subs from the source video.
