Agree i also tested with source as Mplayer, it does work correctly for AC3 to 5.1 (6chnl) (test file flac (2ch) to ac3 6(ch).


But doesn't work with mediacoder FFMpeg source and encoder to AC3 5.1 (6ch). Tested with Avanti with FFMpeg as source and the encoder and it works, medaicoder is at fault.

Are you using windows os ? Those fonts are the same ones in windows fonts directory, if using windows there is a path problem. But if so how did you load the os ! Probably as you say 'some important instructions missing'.

Maybe by using a software gui that interfaces with avisynth could be another good choice.

128kbps really was the original audio quality that bad, to butcher it even further with 128kbps
