I now there are no ideas...
Wait for fix this issue or use other tool.
Eventually try split mode.
Or use some old MediaCoder (i don't sure... maybe 0.6.1).
Or try with other MEncoder build (optimized for specific CPU).

Re: why when do 20,000 bit rate look blurry?
Interesting... With set 16000 kbps - yes, MEncoder use this value - but of course can reach only maximum compresibility (for example ~6000 kbps). With set 20000 kbps - funny, Mencoder use 20 kbps  - but of course can reach only minimum compresibility (for example ~1500 kbps). Check bitrate ...

Re: avi file dont played by Windows Media Player
Oh, output AVI is larger than 1GB... http://forum.mediacoderhq.com/viewtopic.php?t=6051 It's old (!) MEncoder issue with writes to OpenDML. A simple workaround is to replace MEncoder by another build. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=205275&package_id=248631 (At this moment MPla...

Re: Encoding Using On2VP7
AHH OK gotcha now... I still want to get my h264 file encoded with the vp7 codec - now I take it that I can use the Vorbis audio if I'm using AVI as the container? and on2 as the codec? Vorbis in AVI? It's very problematic... Can use FFmpeg as encoder, but transcoded file probably will not be playa...

Re: Encoding Using On2VP7
So what is possible with on2vp7? If the files on on2's website are not FLV and not MP4 what are they? It's AVI container (with .vp7 extension) - maybe slightly modified, but still AVI. File with .tc8 exension is similar to .asx, .wvx, .ram, ... - it's just text file with redirection to video stream...
