Very good bug report (thank you)!
I am not sure what causes the 3.8gb limit. Does it happen with all possible video sources and encoders?

I hope Stanley can take a look at it and I second that moving the option ot the graphical interface would be good.

Using an administrator account on Vista Ultimate 32 bit (no uac) everything besides the firefox 3 problem works the way it's expected. And I do have write access to the installation folder witouth taking ownership of it.

Still valid points that need investigation.

For using Firefox 3 you have to go to options -> browser setup and tick safe mode.

Thanks for your input. I am sure Stanley will integrate a newer version soon. For the time being I suggest you use either one of the plugins or fall back to the older version of MediaCoder.

A possible solution could be trying out different audio sources.

Maybe the mkvmerge gui version you are using is newer and able to ignore small errors. Could you tell us which version of mkvmerge you are using?

I think it might be possible to apply effects using avisynth which is supported by MediaCoder, but I have never worked with it.

The framerate option in the picture tab should be working fine. I transcode all my videos to 24 frames which works perfectly.

I hinted a possible solution for this problem to Stanley. He wants to implement it but since it's a lot of work and he has other features to integrate first it may take a while. There is a feature planned for a later version where copying softsubs is possible. They would be either hardcoded or strea...

Have you tried using mplayer or ffmpeg as audio sources?
